Star Trek: Miracle They recently wrapped season 1 on Paramount+, and it was an emotional finale for those tuned in. Dal, Gwyn, Jankom, Rok-Tahk, Zero, and Murf manage to successfully destroy Vau N’Akat’s weapon, but it comes at a huge sacrifice. Janeway holograms, the EMH who guided the crew throughout the first season, gave her life to help destroy the Protostar while the children were escaping. Fortunately, the crew will move on with Vice Admiral Janeway in Season 2, but as CinemaBlend learned exclusively from its showrunners, there will be some changes.
I had a chance to talk to Kevin and Dan Hagman about… Star Trek: Miracle, the end of the first season, and what lies ahead in the second season. As seen in the Season 1 finale, Dahl and the crew will join Vice Admiral Janeway’s staff as warrant officers-in-training. I asked the showrunners if there would be some difference in the dynamic between Babies and Janeways given their differences, and Dan Hagman gave a definitive answer:
One hundred percent. I think you look at the first season, which is the story of these kids and their first teacher. Hologram Janeway was their mentor and we knew when we showed him that they were going to lose their mentor. But they will get a new one, and it will give them a new opportunity to grow. They will not be spoiled like they were in the first season. In order to get into Starfleet, things get a little more difficult. That’s a big thing.
CinemaBlend recently reported that Hagemans originally intended to recruit Dal and friends for Starfleet, but after a conversation with a trip Chancellor David Mack felt it was best to keep them out while still trying to force their way into the organization moving forward. In doing so, they will receive further training which provides them with more evidence that they can join Starfleet and learn what it really means to be part of an organization.
In Season 2, this means that Dal, Jankom, Rok, Zero, and Murf are serving in Starfleet under Vice Admiral Janeway, but in a different way than they previously used to. Kevin Hagman expanded on an idea Star Trek: Miracle The crew isn’t coddled the same way next season and definitely have less access to the real Janeway than they do to EMH:
Vice Admiral Janeway is a real person with other responsibilities. She’s an adult, while Holo Janeway is designed to support their every need and be there for them.
The hologram Janeway was able to be there whenever the crew needed direction, advice, or something else. No doubt Vice Admiral Janeway would have much less access, even if she wasn’t commanding a craft the size of Voyager in a Star Trek: Miracle Season 2. One can certainly imagine it might take some time from someone like Dal, who is no doubt still dealing with his newfound knowledge about his origin as well as other things.
Definitely, Star Trek: Miracle She will have plenty to distract the young NCOs in training as Janeway seems intent on jumping into the alternate future to organize a rescue mission for Chakotay. We have previously learned from Star Trek: MiracleRacers said it would be a two-season arc between Janeway and Chakotay, so hopefully a happy ending is on the horizon. Considering Janeway’s hologram eventually dies, I feel a little confident that one is guaranteed.
